For this assignment you will be shooting multiple views of one person or one thing (not a little object) in various locations of one scene. You will need to work on this in class using Photoshop to create the image. You will find the same person, different gestures, expressions, dressing show up in a single photo, and he/she is basically everywhere. They are just put in the same photo with some simple masking. They actually interact with each other. Check out several more clone examples here!

#10 Homework-David Hockney photomontage
The homework assignment due October 26 is to create an analog or digital collage in the style of David Hockney's photography. David Hockney is a living British artist who did some experimental photography containing multiple views of the same scene, portrait, or group portrait. He currently is involved in painting and has a new mural that can be found online. To complete this assignment, stand in one location and shoot numerous photos of the scene in front of you (first you need to select an interesting scene or location as your subject) which you will combine to create the finished work. Be sure to have the work uploaded to your blog by class time on the 26th. Here are some Hockney examples:
Self Portrait Magazine Cover
Select a magazine that you feel would be appropriate for your face to appear on the cover. Set up and plan a photo and the stories to put on the cover and go to town. You will have to use Photoshop to add the text for the articles on the cover and possibly the title. You may be able to find the magazine and cut out the title and using the different Photoshop tools, cut away the area between
Underwater Living Space
Create an underwater living space using Photoshop. You may find or photograph a living space and include underwater scenes and environment or you may find an underwater scene and add furnishings to the scene. Have fun and be creative.
Surrealism
You have completed the "Through the Looking Glass" piece and should have done some experimentation to create a surrealist piece. Be sure you upload those images and get them posted.
Here are some great images of surrealism and several tutorials available to see how they were created. I want you to experiment with the layers, brushes, and tools of Photoshop-so have some fun and create some interesting images.

NO SCHOOL!
Since you are getting out early again today and have a weekend of 80 degree weather, I would suggest you look ahead at the homework assignments and plan to get some shooting done over the days away from school.
Look over the Rules of Thirds assignment Power Point again since some of you really missed the mark on that assignment. Framing is due on Wednesday and the architecture homework assignment is due on Wednesday the 19th. Go back to classjump to look over the assignments and Power Point examples if you need to refresh your memory.
Check out the David Hockney assignment that is coming up by checking out his multiple image photographs online.
Use this wonderful weather to do lots of photography outside. Remember the best lighting situations are around dawn and dusk and not so great at mid-day.

#3-LEADING LINES; direct the viewer and check all vantage points before you shoot any image
#4-UN-CLUTTER; keep your backgrounds free of distracting subjects or clutter
#5-MERGERS; be careful to check that your subjects do not have trees or other odd items growing from their heads

Homework #6 - Leading Lines
CHANGE NOTICE!!!!!! Assignment #6 for your homework has been changed. The assignment is to shoot ten images using the leading lines to direct the viewer's eye. Use the notes over the power point that was given in class as examples. LOOK. Get out and make some strong compositions; don't just shoot around your house. Try moving yourself and the cameras to create different angles to lead the viewer into the subject you have chosen.
Be selective and be creative. All of the assignments in this course include looking and making decisions before you press the shutter release. They can all be completed in and around town-BUT YOU NEED TO LOOK AT YOUR SURROUNDINGS WITH NEW EYES. The images can be completed without traveling to great lengths; but you have to be willing to do the work, not just push a button.

Two are required- one horizontal and one vertical and then the images will be put into photoshop and a layer or filter will be added. Once that assignment is completed; upload the images.
Everyone needs to comment on four of the divisional portraits once they have been uploaded.
